To the history of the formation of intercultural relations in the process of learning the Russian Language by the local Population of Turkestan (Second Half Of The XIX – Beginning Of The XX Centery)

The article raises the question of the introduction of the Russian element into the
popular education of the local population in the Turkestan region. The article examines the process of
studying the Russian language of the local population, created by the tsarist administration in this
region. The process of studying a foreign language of the local population, created by the tsarist
administration in this region, also served as an instrument of the tsarist colonial policy. The tsarist
authorities also tried to alienate the nomadic part of the local population from the Muslim faith. In their
opinion, the local population needed not a Tatar or Arab, but a Russian letter.
