Vascular VienAbstract
The vein detector is one of the important devices in the health aspect. It is considered one of the supporting medical devices and it is necessary for patients whose veins are difficult to detect due to the nature of the superficial skin and epidermis.
The vein detector is relatively expensive, as the vein is detected by laser, by a thermal camera, or by infrared.
In this project, we used low-priced materials such as a surveillance camera, where we placed IR LEDs with a wavelength of 850nm, which were connected to the camera processor and work with night vision technology and programming using the Python language, where we were able to employ programming with the camera, operate it and display it on the laptop screen, where the Python language allows us to process the images captured by the camera in an instant and direct manner.
We got good results compared to the vein detector that works with infrared technology, at the lowest possible cost and with the available capabilities.
