<p>Word order is the syntactic arrangement of words in a sentence or phrase. In English, <br>word order plays an important role in conveying meaning and intent. However, globalization <br>and the influence of other languages are contributing to changes in conventional English word <br>order and its usage over time. This paper reviews modern trends in English word order, <br>analyzing corpus data and scholarly literature on its evolving syntactic patterns. Both the effects <br>of language contact as well as gradual internal changes are considered. <br><br></p>
